Is everyone having a lovely Monday?
I am. Even though the weather is a tad shitty, I think I’m going to make it through this one with a smile on my face. Why? Let me tell you…
So the new record has been months and months in the making. It’s not done yet. Due to outside influences which I’m not at liberty to discuss at the moment, it’s going to be delayed a bit longer. I’ll update you all on that by June… I should have some concrete information by then. However, in the mean time, I’m going to release a free, downloadable live album. It’s going to be a short one, because the sound wasn’t very good and the last 5 or 6 songs are static filled… but I’ll give you all that I can.
I played a set at the Acoustic Café up in Fairfield, CT this past Saturday, and the sound guy was nice enough to record my set. That’s what I’m going to give you.
Here’s the fun part…
I want YOU… the fans and friends of Jimmy McDonald, to pick a name for it. It’s going to be fun. Here’s how the contest works:
1. Come up with a name for the live album.Submit your creativity by sending an e-mail to Jimmy@JimmyMcDonald.net .
2. In the subject line, put “The Name Game”. Please be sure to include your name and e-mail address somewhere in the e-mail, so I can let you know if you’ve been selected for the next round.
3. I’ll read all of your submissions and pick the top 5.
4. The top 5 names that I handpick will go into round 2, which we’re going to appropriately call “The Finals”.
5. Then, YOU will be able to vote on your favorite name by going to my website and clicking two simple buttons. One button to make your selection, and another to submit.
6. Whoever gets the most votes wins. Your title will be the name of my first live release.
Since it’s you guys who make my shows memorable and truly special, I want to give you the opportunity to get involved in the behind the scenes stuff. It’s my thank you to all of you for coming out to shows to laugh and sing along.
